Vivid x FKL: Splatter!

I've had a pair of white sandals (seen above) for about two years and I had never worn them. After trying to think of what to do to them, I asked my good friend Fatima Laster of FKL Designs to spatter them with paint! I decided to keep the outfit simple and make the shoes and other accessories the focal point.

Vivid Look of the Day: Jessica Alba

Second time around mommy, Jessica Alba looked absolutely radiant as she walked the red carpet of Spy Kids 4 premiere in L.A. She wore a black and white starry printed maxi dress, perfect for showing off her baby bump and sported a saucy up-do. The dress is easy-breezy and perfect for such an occasion.

Stacey Dash's Pink and Green Colorblocked Ensemble

Sorry for the poor quality, I took this on my TV screen.

 Did anyone else see episode 107 of  VH1's Single Ladies Monday night? If you didn't, you missed a treat! Val, played by Stacey Dash wore a colorblocked ensemble that Crayola would rival! The stylish entrepreneur rocked a hot pink Jil Sander tee and a kelly green mini skirt with a huge bow at the waist, she topped it off with blue Christian Louboutin heels. In one word, her look was perfection. Check out the video as the show's stylist, Anthony Williams breaks down the inspiration for her look:

International retailer, Scoop NYC hosted a book signing here in Chicago with fashion bloggers Katherine Power and Hillary Kerr of WhoWhatWear.com to promote their new book, What to Wear, Where. The book is full of ideas on what you should wear to office parties, shopping, and even meeting your boyfriend's parents for the first time. We all want to make a good impression and this book is sure to help you achieve the look you're going for. It doesn't hurt that the forward is written by the uber stylish, Nicole Richie.

Vivid Look of the Day: Kim Kardashian

Reality Starlet Kim Kardashian was spotted shopping in NYC with her fiance, Matt Lauer wearing this acid yellow poet sleeve dress by Elise Overland and Guiseppe Zanotti blue suede lace-up sandals.

 

I love the simplicity of this ensemble. The easy-breezyness of the baby doll dress and the platform sandals are perfect for a day strolling the streets with you boo. Not to mention the acid yellow paired with colbalt blue, #winning!

Style File: Cassie Ventura

Today's Style File candidate is none other than Cassie Ventura. The singer and model knows what looks good on her and can wear almost anything. Though she gets some slack for allegedly being Diddy's side chick, she's got most beat in the style department. Honey even looks good in a shredded tee. Take a look at some of my favorite looks:

The bronzed beauty keeps a pair of head turning heels and her edgy haircut only adds to her look. What do you think of Cassie's style?

Celebrity Oops! of the Day: Adrienne Bailon

Former Cheetah Girl, Adrienne Bailon stepped out in this light gray cropped top and a  hard candy watermelon skirt by LQS by LaQuan Smith. I was head over heels for her outfit until I saw her heels...I love the cropped top paired with the hot pink skirt and the croco clutch added a bit of interest to her ensemble, but what was she thinking when she walked out of the door wearing those clunky black YSL Tribtoo's? She ruined a perfectly great outfit! Adrienne could have finished the look with a pair of strappy snakeskin sandals or even a metallic pair--but black pumps are a no-no.

Vivid Cover Girl: Eva Marcille Pigford

Model and actress, Eva Marcille Pigford did a photo shoot for online publication We The Urban. Eva the Diva worked the camera while rocking her platinum blonde pixie cut and discussed life in Hollywood and how her family keeps her grounded.

The interview wasn't very in-depth or revealing, but the photo shoot is hot. What do you think?

Vivid Look of the Day: Kelly Rowland

Singer, Kelly Rowland walked the streets of London during "X Factor" promos in this pumpkin colored blazer, a Moschino t-shirt and skirt, Alexander McQueen sandals and clutch and Stella McCartney aviator sunglasses. I must say, I love this look on her. The color of the blazer adds an unexpected twist to what would normally be an expected outfit, the playful tee looks cute, and she definitely needs her sunnies to block her eyes from the flashing lights of the paps.

Solange for Rimmel London

Singer, DJ, and spokesmodel Solange Knowles has a new ad campaign for beauty brand Rimmel London. When asked about being the face of Rimmel she said:

"I am very careful of ever putting the role model tag on my shoulders. I am human and I am expected to have imperfections and make mistakes. However, if there are positive things I do that inspire or influence people I feel like my purpose as a person is that much more fulfilled. When I announced my role with Rimmel, I felt really proud to see such a positive response especially being that I represent someone of color, a single mom, an artist...and that I don't have to compromise my views to do so!"

Vivid News: Carol's Daughter Launches Monoi

New spokesmodels Solange, Cassie,  and Selita Ebanks attended the Carol’s Daughter Spokesbeauty & Monoi Repairing Collection launch at Sephora in New York City--and the ladies looked nothing short of fab while doing so.

 Selita looked cute in an ethnic print dress and nude Christian Louboutin Lady Dafs.

Cassie looked hot in a deep-v, skin-tone mini dress, but hmmm---I'm confused by the ankle strap on those pumps. I think she could have worn a sexier shoe.

Former spokesmodel, Mary J. Blige kept it simple in a black and white python print blouse and white skinny jeans. She accessorized the look with an Hermes belt and cognac heels. 

Solange stunted in a canary yellow suit and grey t-strap sandals. I love that she kept her accessories to a minimum and allowed the suit to be the focal point. Her glowing skin and blown out 'fro were the perfect addition to the look.
