After all of the whop-la over the royal wedding, we can breathe again. Bride, Kate Middleton wore a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress for her nuptials. While she looked beautiful and the dress fit impeccably, I think we can all agree that we were underwhelmed (especially with a dress by the late, great Alexander McQueen). I was hoping for a few more bells and whistles, at least a pop of color.
I understand the conservativeness of the Royals, but this is a new day and age. A more detailed dress, a colorful bouquet or even a bright shoe goes a long way. The guests had no problem pulling out all stops for the special occasion. However, would such attention-getting outfits be considered 'out-doing the bride' on her day?
All of the wonderful colors, the intricate hats and all around fashion they were giving was great. But Victoria Beckham stole the show, sleighing them all--pregnant and in six inch heels.
How's that for upstaging the bride?

Vivid Look of the Day: Rihanna
The ultimate rebel, Rihanna wore this Mandalay ivory polka dot chiffon dress to her Reb’l Fleur fragrance launch at Macy’s Herald Square. I must say I'm loving this look from head to toe. The polka dots, the lace detail at the bust, and the gather on the side, cute! She made sure not to take away from the dress by wearing a nude shoe. Loves it!

Celebrity Oops! of the Day: Beyonce
Hit or miss champion Beyonce was spotted at the airport in Paris as she prepared to return to the states wearing this:
The singer was decked out in a $475 Balmain tee and $3,595 Balmain multi-zip military herem pants that look more like Friday night PJ's. As LuAnn de Lesseps will tell you, money can't buy you class-- and in this case style.
Beyonce could have easily saved this look with a pair of dark washed jeans, but that would have been too much like right. Better luck next time, Bey!

Nicki Minaj does Allure
Rapper and make-up guru Nicki Minaj is Allure magazine's "Allure Face" for May 2011. When asked how many wigs she has she said:
"A hundred? Right before I walk out the door, I grab one. Today, I wore a beige jacket and brown boots and I wanted to keep the whole earth-tone color scheme, so I did blonde. But it all depends on my mood. I just like to feel euphoric and free—so I'm going for more of the pink and the crazy, weird stuff now"
On getting her nails done:
"You know what's so messed up? I used to love getting my nails done; it was a time of relaxation. Now, I want to choke myself because I can't pause my life. In L.A. the nail technicians take 18 hours for a freakin' fill-in [for acrylics]. My phone goes off a billion times."

Vivid Cover Girl: Lauren London
'Round the way girl, Lauren London did a photo shoot and interview with Rolling Out online. The actress plays "Renee", girlfriend to "Byron" (Bow Wow) in Tyler Perry's upcoming film, Madea's Big Happy Family.
In the article, London discusses her beauty secrets, her public pregnancy and career.
Here's what she said about her perceived mysterious persona:
“I know that I don’t really give a lot, so people don’t really know how to perceive me,” she acknowledged. “There’s not enough out there to really know who I am. I’ve heard that people think I’m [a] goody two-shoes, the girl around the way, which is fine because those are pieces of me that are true, but I’m human and [she cranked her attitude up a few notches] I’m not going to pretend to be anything else other than that.”
And that's why we love her! Check out her photos:

Kanye West Blasted for Wearing a Blouse
Rapper Kanye West performed at the 2011 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California wearing this printed silk Celine top straight off the runway--the women's runway. West became the butt of jokes when editor Derek Blasberg tweeted “Sorry ladies, but the best dressed girl at #Coachella is hands down @KanyeWest. Homegirl rocked spring Celine on stage. Twerk it out, Ye!”

Vivid Cover Girl: Lady GaGa
Pop sensation, Lady GaGa is on the cover of the May issue of Harper's Bazaar. In the issue she discusses her new look (alien-like points protruding from her temples, cheeks and shoulders), her new album, and how she thinks the late Alexander McQueen is living through her. She said:
"I think he planned the whole thing: Right after he died, I wrote 'Born This Way.' I think he's up in heaven with fashion strings in his hands, marionetting away, planning this whole thing." Supporting Gaga's claim was the decision by the label--not Gaga herself--to move up the release date for "Born This Way," ultimately to the exact day of the one-year anniversary of McQueen's death. "When I heard that, I knew he planned the whole damn thing. I didn't even write the fucking song. He did!"
Oh Gaga. Read more here.
